12,000 visitors and 1,200 classic cars
at Motorworld Oldtimertage Fürstenfeld

Fürstenfeldbruck, October 1, 2019. For the 15th year, the grounds of Fürstenfeld Monastery were transformed into a space for mobile passion at the Motorworld Oldtimertage Fürstenfeld on September 21-22. Around 12,000 visitors and 1,200 classic cars came to enjoy the varied programme and numerous exhibitors. The date for 2020 has already been set as well: September 19-20.

The first classic cars arrived in the early hours of the penultimate Saturday to fill the paddock on the Amperwiese meadow. With its large programme, many exhibitors and the parts market, the classic car meeting with its over 1,200 vehicles has been the heart of the event ever since its inception, inviting visitors to linger, browse and buy.

“The historic monastery as backdrop and the spacious grounds are the ideal destination for an autumn excursion in a classic car,” says Meike Poweleit, Managing Director of MaMoto Messe- und Veranstaltungs GmbH. “A meeting point for everyone who loves historic automobiles”.

Even visitors without a classic car had the opportunity to experience for themselves the journey back through time on wheels. For ten years now, the German Automobile Veterans Club (DAVC) has been taking interested guests on a short tour of the Oldtimertage Fürstenfeld. In addition, the classic car clubs presented the theme “Camping like in the good old days” to perfection. Amidst fruit trees stooping with age, lovingly furnished caravans enchanted visitors with the charm of bygone days.

Special exhibition “100 Years Citroën”

A special exhibition was put on in the inner barn courtyard to mark the 100th anniversary of the Citroën brand. On view were vehicles from throughout its history from the Citroën HP5 and various Citroën Traction Avant models, through to the DS, CX and numerous versions of the 2CV. The excellent exhibition was assembled by the South Bavarian branch of the Citroën Veterans Club.

„80’s Ensemble“ – the winners

On Saturday the “80’s Ensemble” took place for the first time on the meadow in front of the monastery church. A special kind of Concours: The total ages of the vehicle and the driver could not be more than 80 years. Fifteen drivers took part in the first edition of this competition. The jury was impressed by the owners’ enthusiasm and the special selection of vehicles. “Best of Show” was a Bitter SC with its young owner. Second place went to another young owner with her BMW 323 Individual, who won the “Youngtimer Award”. Third prize and the “80’s Award” went to yet another female owner and her Porsche 911 Targa. An Audi 80 B Coupe received the “Best in Class Tuning” award.

“Hall of Thunder” and 1st “Fürstenfeld Classic Motorrad Tour”

Motorcycle enthusiasts got their money’s worth at the Motorworld Oldtimertage Fürstenfeld as well. On the Waaghäuslwiese meadow, numerous two-wheelers presented themselves around the “Hall of Thunder” for the motorcycle concours. Another top highlight were the motorcycles that took up position in front of the church before and after the 1st Fürstenfelder Classic Motorrad Tour. Here, visitors were able to admire the motorbikes, some of them around 100 years old.
