Cooperation MOTORWORLD München/Live Nation
Focus on extensive Zenith modernisation
Munich’s leading rock and pop venue with even more appeal in the future.
Motorworld Munich and Live Nation will in future be cooperating at the Zenith. The aim of the cooperation agreement that has now been concluded is to upgrade Munich’s leading venue for rock, pop and other cultural events, and to make it even more appealing by means of an extensive modernisation.
The listed hall, which has been at the centre of the music scene in the state capital for 20 years and holds a unique status, is to be revitalised in every respect. The Zenith will be brought up to date with a bundle of measures from which spectators, organisers and performers will benefit significantly and to an equal degree. Ongoing activities should not be inhibited by this work.
The cooperation agreement has now been signed by Andreas Dünkel, CEO of the Motorworld Group, Arantxa Dörrié, Managing Director at the Munich location, and Live Nation CEO Marek Lieberberg. Live Nation will accordingly bring its expertise and know-how in the entertainment business to bear in supporting both the modernisation of the hall, and in the long term the operative concert and live entertainment business. The Zenith-Halle will remain under the ownership of Motorworld subsidiary Freimann EVENT Besitz GmbH & Co. KG.
Motorworld Munich will continue operating the Zenith under the auspices of its company Freimann EVENT Betriebs GmbH. Regardless of the comprehensive and diverse Live Nation projects, the Zenith will naturally remain open to all other concert, event and trade fair organisers.
“The concentrated strength of the world market leader in live entertainment, coupled with our expertise as a real estate developer and operator, together form the perfect combination for transforming the Zenith into an extremely appealing and sustainable concert and event hall,” explains Andreas Dünkel.
Live Nation CEO Marek Lieberberg welcomes the cooperation as a key step in expanding the company’s activities in Munich and for its commitment in the hall entertainment sector. “With our portfolio and our worldwide network, we want to contribute to consolidating Munich as a location and an essential venue for ourselves and our performers.
“This cooperation is literally built around music,” says Arantxa Dörrié. “The Zenith will soon regain the appeal for organisers, performers and visitors alike that a hall with such a rich artistic and cultural history deserves.

About MOTORWORLD München
Motorworld Munich is currently under construction on the 75,000-square-metre large site of the former, and now listed, railway repair shop in the Freimann district of Munich. In the locomotive hall, areas are being created for glass-walled parking boxes, traders in classic and premium-brand cars, workshops, exhibitions and offices. An AMERON 4-star design hotel, featuring several elaborately designed theme rooms, together with restaurants, convention rooms and a congress hall for up to 1,900 people, are also planned. The locomotive hall is scheduled to open at the end of 2019. Also part of Motorworld München are the Zenith Kulturhalle, the Kesselhaus and the Kohlebunker, which are already popular concert and event venues.
