Truly a moving event – the presentation of the “Motorworld Book Prize 2023” on Tuesday, 30 May, at Motorworld München. The most fascinating and interesting new car books were selected from around 70 submissions: a total of 21 literary works dealing with various aspects of mobility made the running in the categories “Brand”, “Biography”, “Motor Sport”, “Design” and “History”. Several special prizes were also awarded.

The many different topics of the award-winning books ranged from documentaries focusing on the history or models of Tatra, BMW, Glas or Harley Davidson, through to biographies of racing drivers such as Kurt Ahrens and Eberhard Mahle and a literary journey through the history of Italian car design. The jury was also impressed by a Nürburgring album that excellently reflects the zeitgeist of the 1960s with amateur photographs, or a book containing previously unpublished photographs by Edward Quinn, who captured the major motor sport events in Monaco in the 1950s and 1960s – including lifestyle, glamour and celebrities.

Absolute stand-out entries were an insight into the garage of the last Shah of Iran, which also covers the history of Iranian society and automobile culture, as well as a comprehensive work on the history of e-mobility from 1881 to tomorrow. Two special surprises were the comprehensive presentations of Japanese automobile history and of the Porsche 962, for which the jury created an extra category called “Beyond Everything”.

ALL PRIZE WINNERS AT A GLANCE

Extra category “Beyond Everything”

Mark R. The origins of the family-run company date back to 1930. The Motorworld Group develops, builds and operates worlds of experience dedicated to mobile passion, and as a whole is considered to be the world’s largest brand-neutral centre for classic cars and sports cars, winning many national and international awards. It brings together the brand who’s who of the entire mobility industry.

The first location was Motorworld Region Stuttgart in Böblingen, which opened in 2009 and has since been expanded several times. Further projects and activities under the MOTORWORLD® brand have been initiated in recent years. Following on with the same concept as Motorworld Region Stuttgart, Motorworld Köln-Rheinland opened in June 2018. It is home to one of the most significant collections in motor sport: The private collection of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher. The imposing Motorworld München opened its doors in May 2021.

Other already partially active locations currently at the planning stage or under construction are Motorworld Zeche Ewald-Ruhr, Motorworld Luxembourg and Motorworld Mallorca. Locations in keeping with the Motorworld Manufaktur concept are to be found in Berlin, Rüsselsheim and Zurich. The Motorworld Village Metzingen focuses on events.

To satisfy the ever-increasing requirements where environmental protection and efficiency are concerned, the Motorworld Group relies on regenerative energy sources. Thanks to its proprietary photovoltaic systems and combined heat and power plants, it saves so much CO2 that it can call itself climate-neutral even when hosting a full programme of events.

www.motorworld.de
www.facebook.com/MotorworldGroup
www.instagram.com/motorworld_group
www.linkedin.com/company/motorworld-group/

["post-93820","pressemitteilungen","type-pressemitteilungen","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
