John D’Agostino presents “Award of Excellence”

“U.S. Cars & Lifestyle” special exhibition with star of the customizer scene, powerful vehicles and a film hero

Berlin, November 5, 2019. Hot rods, custom cars, road cruisers and more: This year’s Motorworld Classics Berlin on November 20-24, 2019, is a must-attend event for lovers and fans of the American driving culture. The U.S. Cars & Lifestyle special exhibition shines the spotlight on high-powered vehicles made in the U.S.A. As a prominent guest, Motorworld Classics Berlin will be welcoming John D’Agostino. The star of the U.S. customizer scene will be selecting the finest vehicle at the trade fair below the radio tower. Fans of the cult TV series “Knight Rider” can also look forward to a truly special highlight: K.I.T.T. – the legendary film car.

Anyone who loves the “American way of life” shouldn’t miss out on this year’s Motorworld Classics Berlin. Lovers of American cars and big engines will certainly get their money’s worth at the U.S. Cars & Lifestyle special exhibition in Hall 20. Shiny chrome, matt paintwork or in original condition with genuine patina: On display will be U.S. heroes that make V8 hearts beat faster.

Alongside exceptional vehicles, visitors will also be able to encounter well-known personalities from the scene. John D’Agostino, star of the U.S. customizer scene, will be there as well to present his coveted “Award of Excellence” to the finest vehicle on Friday at 15:30 on the special show area in hall 20 at the trade fair. He will also be signing autographs every day at 2 p.m. at the Motorworld Group/Sonax booth in Hall 22. The American is considered a master when it comes to customizing vehicles. He has been working on American cars since the 1970s, transforming them into breathtaking, unique custom cars.

Film star on four wheels

Visitors to Motorworld Classics Berlin can also look forward to seeing a truly special highlight on four wheels. The “Berliner Autosattlerei” will be bringing what is probably one of the best-known cars in the world, the legendary K.I.T.T. from the American cult series “Knight Rider”, to the special exhibition. The car on display is currently the best replica from the around 20 examples that exist in Germany today. During the past year, the vehicle has been accompanying David Hasselhoff on his European concert tour. The most defining features of K.I.T.T. are the red chase lights in the car’s front apron, together with the imposing dashboard full of coloured lamps and buttons.

Dreamlike Americans and super sports cars packed with horsepower

In co-operation with the Pre 50s Club, other American dream cars such as a 1958 Corvette and a Plymouth Fury, likewise from 1958, will be on display at the special exhibition. Other exhibits will include a 1959 Buick Electra 225 and a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air. For many people, the latter symbolises the American way of life like practically no other car.

American super sports cars with plenty of horsepower under the bonnet will be displayed by “Crank it! U.S. Cars & Customs”, among them a 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Promod dragster, an exceptional 1934 Ford Coupe, as well as an extremely rare Ford Rat Rod. Crank it! stands for both high-performance engines as well as for classic originality. The Berlin-based company brings many old treasures back to life.

American lifestyle and U.S. car pool tables

Truly American is also the ambience of the special exhibition. Visitors can look forward to tasty burgers and drinks from the American Diner served by staff in matching outfits. Those looking for suitable attire for the trade fair in the look of the good old days will find what they’re looking for at the Killer Kirsche booth, where everything revolves around rockabilly and vintage clothing. Handbags, shoes and accessories in the retro look of the 1950s are also available here. Other real eye-catchers are the U.S. car pool tables from Busch Billiards & Sports, including a Camaro pool table made from the body of a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and bearing the signature of Formula 1 world champion Mario Andretti.

About the MOTORWORLD Group

The independent MOTORWORLD Group emerged from the DÜNKEL Holding corporate group based in Schemmerhofen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany). The origins of the family-run company go back to 1933. The Motorworld Group develops, builds and operates experience worlds that are dedicated to mobile passion.

The first location was Motorworld Region Stuttgart in Böblingen, which opened in 2009 and has since been expanded several times, winning several awards along the way. Further projects and activities under the MOTORWORLD® brand have been initiated in recent years. Following on with the same concept as Motorworld Region Stuttgart, Motorworld Köln-Rheinland opened in June 2018. Two further locations are currently under development: Motorworld München and Motorworld Zeche Ewald-Ruhr, Herten. The starting signal for the construction of Motorworld Mallorca will also be given shortly.

The portfolio will be complemented by the Motorworld Manufaktur locations in Berlin, Metzingen, Rüsselsheim and Zurich. As their names suggest, the space for mobile passion at these locations will focus in particular on good old handicraft skills. All four locations are already in operation and are being steadily expanded.

The Motorworld idea also regularly goes on tour, including to the annual classic car trade fairs Motorworld Classics Berlin and Motorworld Classics Bodensee in Friedrichshafen, to scene events such as the Motorworld Oldtimertage at Fürstenfeld (near Munich), as well as in numerous other guises.

The “IAA Heritage by Motorworld” rounds off the Motorworld Group’s event portfolio both regionally and thematically. Existing formats and locations thus mesh perfectly with one another. They all abide by the motto “Space for mobile passion”, interpreting it in many different facets.
