“Concours de Nonchalance”
Young drivers with old classic cars wanted

Berlin, September 27, 2019. Following its successful premiere last year, the second edition of the Concours de Nonchalance will be taking place at this year’s Motorworld Classics Berlin. Drivers who, together with their car, have a maximum age of 60 years (whereby the vehicle must be at least 20 years old) can apply to take part.

The Concours de Nonchalance will take place on November 23, 2019, at Motorworld Classics Berlin. Applications with a photograph of the car together with its date of first registration and the driver’s date of birth can be sent up until November 1 to A jury will then select the participants who will be able to show their vehicles on November 23 on the grounds of Berlin’s ExpoCenter. The award ceremony for the winning cars will take place in the late afternoon. Alongside non-cash prizes, trophies designed as the Berlin Bear also await the participants. Our partner for the competition is the car magazine ‘Classic Cars’.

“The Concours de Nonchalance is the counterpart to the Concours d’Élegance. It already served last year as a platform for young drivers and their classics-to-be, and we were more than surprised by the degree of diversity, love and enthusiasm with which young people in particular are interested in driving cultural assets,” explains Ulf Schulz, Project Manager at Motorworld Classics Berlin. “We’re looking forward to the diverse mix of vehicles and histories this year as well.”

Motorworld Classics Berlin is much more than just an automobile show with exhibits from years gone by. With the unique atmosphere of the historic halls of Berlin’s ExpoCenter, the look and feel of the good old days, together with an entertainment programme, it is a lifestyle event for the whole family and a journey back in time. Among the highlights will be special exhibitions about car-making in Berlin, motor sport and US cars & lifestyle.

Lovers of two-wheelers can again look forward to special motorcycle highlights in 2019, and the popular parts market with spare parts, accessories and automotive memorabilia on offer will be taking place again as well. For the first time, Motorworld Classics Berlin will this year be opening its doors parallel to the BOOT & FUN BERLIN leisure trade fair, offering visitors the best of both worlds. Mobility on land and water.

About the MOTORWORLD Group

The independent MOTORWORLD Group emerged from the DÜNKEL Holding corporate group based in Schemmerhofen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany). The origins of the family-run company go back to 1933. The Motorworld Group develops, builds and operates experience worlds that are dedicated to mobile passion.

The first location was Motorworld Region Stuttgart in Böblingen, which opened in 2009 and has since been expanded several times, winning several awards along the way. Further projects and activities under the MOTORWORLD® brand have been initiated in recent years. Following on with the same concept as Motorworld Region Stuttgart, Motorworld Köln-Rheinland opened in June 2018. Two further locations are currently under development: Motorworld München and Motorworld Zeche Ewald-Ruhr, Herten. The starting signal for the construction of Motorworld Mallorca will also be given shortly.

The portfolio will be complemented by the Motorworld Manufaktur locations in Berlin, Metzingen, Rüsselsheim and Zurich. As their names suggest, the space for mobile passion at these locations will focus in particular on good old handicraft skills. All four locations are already in operation and are being steadily expanded.

The Motorworld idea also regularly goes on tour, including to the annual classic car trade fairs Motorworld Classics Berlin and Motorworld Classics Bodensee in Friedrichshafen, to scene events such as the Motorworld Oldtimertage at Fürstenfeld (near Munich), as well as in numerous other guises.

The “IAA Heritage by Motorworld” rounds off the Motorworld Group’s event portfolio both regionally and thematically. Existing formats and locations thus mesh perfectly with one another. They all abide by the motto “Space for mobile passion”, interpreting it in many different facets.
