MOTORWORLD Köln | Rheinland and Roock-Studio 911 become exclusive German partners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Cologne, May 29, 2019. New exclusive address for sports car fans in Germany: Motorworld Köln | Rheinland, Roock Studio 911 and Automobile Club de l´Ouest, which organises the Le Mans 24-hour race, will in future be forming a strategic collaboration. Motorworld Köln | Rheinland, in whose halls the Michael Schumacher Private Collection – one of the world’s most significant motor sport collections – is also on display, and the local sports car specialist will become the official sales and marketing partners of the French endurance race, which attracts over 300,000 spectators to the circuit every June.
Interested parties can now buy 911 VIP lounge tickets for Europe’s biggest car race through Roock Studio. In the long term, the collaboration is to be expanded in several steps, culminating in a permanent Le Mans exhibition at Motorworld Köln | Rheinland and a special Le Mans Festival on the grounds.
Largely responsible for setting up and expanding the collaboration is Fabian Roock, from Leverkusen. Together with his brother Michael, from 1990 to 2001 he maintained one of the most successful Porsche racing teams in GT sport. In 1996, the Rhinelanders won the GT2 class at Le Mans. Having spent 17 years working in the USA, Fabian Roock is now returning to Germany. At his new Roock Studio 911 at Motorworld Köln | Rheinland, he is developing the concept for the cooperation with the ACO. “The 24-hour race at Le Mans captivates everyone who is interested in sports car and GT sport – including us as a Porsche team, of course, and we are combining some of our greatest experiences in motor sport with the Le Mans myth,” says Fabian Roock. “Together with the ACO, we want to ensure that the flair and fascination of Le Mans can be experienced in Germany as well. Motorworld Köln | Rheinland with its unique grounds is ideally suited for this aim. We have some concepts under preparation which will perfectly complement the permanent Michael Schumacher exhibition. Step by step, we would like to give Le Mans a second home in Cologne, and in doing so also enhance Motorworld Köln | Rheinland with several more attractions.”
The kick-off will be an advance booking campaign for VIP packages for this year’s 24-hour race, which will be taking place on June 15 and 16. The VIP tickets can be ordered as of now. They include access to the lounge and the drivers’ paddock, as well as to catering and transportation at the circuit in Le Mans. The first 100 customers will also receive a free copy of “PITWALK” – the premium motor sport magazine from TV commentator Norbert Ockenga. PITWALK and the podcast series “PITCAST”, which is affiliated with the magazine, are also integrated as partners in the new Le Mans-Germany collaboration as the leading medium for reporting on Le Mans sports car events in Germany.

About the MOTORWORLD Group
The independent MOTORWORLD Group emerged from the DÜNKEL Holding corporate group based in Schemmerhofen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany). The origins of the family-run company go back to 1933. The Motorworld Group develops, builds and operates experience worlds that are dedicated to mobile passion.
The first location was Motorworld Region Stuttgart in Böblingen, which opened in 2009 and has since been expanded several times, winning several awards along the way. Further projects and activities under the MOTORWORLD® brand have been initiated in recent years. Following on with the same concept as Motorworld Region Stuttgart, Motorworld Köln | Rheinland opened in June 2018. Two further locations are currently under development: Motorworld München and Motorworld Zeche Ewald-Ruhr, Herten. The starting signal for the construction of Motorworld Mallorca is due to be given shortly.
The portfolio will be complemented by the Motorworld Manufaktur locations in Berlin, Metzingen, Rüsselsheim and Zurich. As their names suggest, the space for mobile passion at these locations will focus in particular on good old handicraft skills.
The Motorworld idea also regularly goes on tour, including to the annual classic car trade fairs Motorworld Classics Berlin and Motorworld Classics Bodensee in Friedrichshafen, to scene events such as the Motorworld Oldtimertage at Fürstenfeld (near Munich), Motorworld HistoriCar in Duisburg, as well as in numerous other guises.
The “IAA Heritage by Motorworld” rounds off the Motorworld Group’s event portfolio both regionally and thematically. Existing formats and locations thus mesh perfectly with one another. They all abide by the motto “Space for mobile passion”, interpreting it in many different facets.
